Join us for a morning of simple sewing making the Finch Bucket Bag. This cute drawstring bag was a popular sew-along in 2019, so we’re bringing it back to kick off our 2022 Sew-alongs. The bag is a perfect project bag, and it makes great wrapping for gifts—how about making two or three with holiday-themed fabric?
The pattern is straightforward and great for advanced beginners and more experienced sewists alike. This pattern is easy to read and follow with detailed cutting instructions and lots of graphics.
The pattern includes two sizes, and you can adjust the bag to almost any size you like, from gigantic to tiny. You can also use almost any fabric—less-experienced sewists may prefer to follow the pattern precisely, using quilting cotton or lightweight canvas or denim, and more-experienced sewists may like to try upholstery-weight fabric, laminated cotton, or waxed canvas. Plus, the pattern contains a patchwork option, which you can expand if you like.
Please note that this is a sew-along, not a class, and instruction isn’t planned for this activity. We hope sewists of all levels will be joining us, so you should be able to ask questions, but please do not expect to be taken through the project step-by-step.
