PREREQUISITE: You must have already taken Introduction to Bowl Turning or been cleared to turn bowls during Open Studio. Please see description for more details of this prerequisite.

Registration is closed

*This Refresher class requires that you have already taken the Introduction to Bowl Turning class at BARN in the past.

If you've already taken at least one bowl-turning class at BARN but want a refresher after the long closure, this class will help you renew your gouge skills and safety practices.

The instructor will give a brief overview of the lathe, show how to mount stock and review the sequential steps needed to turn a bowl, including mounting
and re-mounting, how to present the gouge and how to prevent “catches.” Once
you feel comfortable, you will be able to practice on stock that BARN will provide.
