  • This class is free but you must register, and you must have already taken a woodturning class at BARN or been cleared to work on the lathes during Open Studio.

If you've already taken a wood lathe sharpening class at BARN and want to refesh your skills, this class is for you.

The instructor will review how to sharpen gouges according to BARN protocol. You will also get advice about how to sharpen other tools (e.g., skews, parting tools, scrapers). If you want to practice on on your own tools, you are welcome to bring them.

Details:
  • Ages 14+ are welcome.
  • This class is free but you must register, and you must have already taken a wood lathe sharpening class at BARN or been cleared to use the sharpening equipment.
  • BARN is practicing safety measures for the health and well-being of all participants, in accordance with state and CDC guidelines. Everyone is required to wear masks, wash or sanitize hands frequently, maintain a distance of 6 feet between individuals, and stay home if they are sick. Overall BARN safety policies are here.   • Wear closed-toe shoes, avoid loose-fitting clothing and dangling jewelry, and tie back long hair. Bring your own safety glasses if possible.
