**This workshop will be conducted via live streaming with Zoom.**
Create a unique book form – a small, intriguing book, nestled in an old box. As the accordion “book” is lifted out, it tells a story in pictures and words. The pictures are ones you have taken or found; the words are from your imagination or just-perfect quotes. The results may be a series of creative dreamscapes; or perhaps a glimpse of a story ‘til now untold; or even a memory of a special event. It all works together to become a special and irresistible ‘book’ that will be read, re-read, and treasured.
In the first of two short, 1½ hr. online sessions, you’ll be guided in creating and presenting your book’s theme, idea sequencing, and story-telling, as well as preparing your repurposed box and an instructional video on making the accordion book to fit. You will have access to the video from home during the week between classes. In addition, there will be ample, emailed handouts to help you through the at-home work of getting your own story and pictures organized and into the book, and then personalizing the box.
The second session will address any questions; offer workable solutions; provide examples for finishing touches to the box; talk about a colophon; and, at last-but not least, we’ll take time to show and share each creative Book-in-a-Box made in the class.
