Decorating paper for books has never been more fun. This messy process could be called finger painting for adults. We use acrylic paints and everyday "tools" to create simple-to-complex designs on large sheets of paper. When dried, these eye-catching papers may become a book's end pages, greeting cards, wall-hangings, book covers, and infinitely more.
Students will leave with at least a half-dozen decorated sheets, and a long list of possible uses for their paste papers.
Susan M. Callan has been a devotee of Book Arts for over 25 years. From a wide variety of experiences over the years, she has found the most joy in sharing what she has learned with others, as well as seeing new book artists emerge with equal love for this fascinating field. B.I. teachers AND students are fortunate to have access to an organization like BARN, which places high value on sharing craft skills.
