Manufactured book cloth is wonderful to use, but comes in limited colors, textures and patterns. It's also often quite expensive. In this workshop, you'll learn how to make your own book cloth, using colorful cotton fabric.  We'll cover two different techniques; one you can use while you are in the book arts studio, and the other that can be done at home.  You'll go home with several new pieces of book cloth, and the skills to make more!

You'll also learn to use the dry mount press, enabling you to use it during Book Arts open studios.  Come join us for a fun filled afternoon and make your own book cloth, from fabrics that you like.  We'll have lots of fabric here, but you are welcome to bring any cotton, fairly tightly woven cloth with little to no texture. Quilting fabric works quite well for this purpose.

Ages 14+ Welcome.

Bring a bag lunch. We have a refrigerator for people to store their lunches and drinks!
