The Writers Studio at BARN presents the first of its “Writing Essentials” series---focus on the scene. The series is designed primarily for beginner and intermediate writers who want to advance their writing skills.

Class Description:

Scenes are the heart of stories. Narrative summary and transitions are important to moving a story forward, but well-developed scenes are the vivid events and images that engage a reader in both fiction and nonfiction. In Writing Essentials: Scene we’ll explore the elements and uses of scene through reading, discussion, and between-class writing assignments. Students will receive individual feedback and positive suggestions to hone their scene-writing skills.

Classes meet on Tuesday, September 13, 20, and 27 from 10:00 am to noon

Cost: $100 for BARN Members, $125 for Non-Members
